The Budget Committee is an advisory committee of the City Council. Seven citizens and all Council Members serve on the Budget Committee. Citizen members are appointed by Council and serve a three year term. The committee’s primary responsibilities include:
- Meeting publicly to review and discuss the budget document that is written and presented by the City’s Budget Officer.
- Approve the budget, as well as property tax rates per $1,000 of assessed value.
Are you interested in having a voice as to how tax dollars are spent in Halsey? If so, you should consider applying for the Budget Committee! The Committee meets 1-2 times per year in the Spring. Applications are accepted in January and February of each year. Applicants must be registered voters and reside within City limits.
